On this special occasion, kindergarteners were treated to a unique experience as an FPL lineworker visited their school, bringing along a bucket truck and a delightful robot dog. This visit was part of Florida’s Lineworker Appreciation Day, an annual tribute established by the Florida House of Representatives in 2012 to honor the unsung heroes who tirelessly maintain our electricity networks.
Kellen Lewis, the lineworker who engaged with the children, observed the children’s excitement as they learned about the vital role that lineworkers play in ensuring reliable electricity delivery. Maria Lloyd, the principal of Limestone Creek Elementary, echoed this sentiment, noting how much the students enjoyed the visit and the valuable lessons they gleaned about safety and the everyday duties of lineworkers.
