John F. Johnson, affectionately known as „Bud,“ peacefully departed this world at the age of 93 on June 17, leaving behind a legacy rich in family, service, and community involvement. Spending his final year in picturesque Stowe, Vermont, Bud cherished time with his beloved wife, Patricia Whitman Johnson, and their three children: Jennifer, Courtney, and Christopher. Each of his children, now thriving in their careers and families, carry forward the values their father instilled in them—hard work, integrity, and the importance of education.
Bud’s life was marked by impressive milestones. A proud son of John A. Johnson and Dorothy Eamonn Johnson, he became the first in his family to attend college, graduating from Brockton High School before earning his undergraduate degree from Colby College and an MBA from Columbia University. His commitment to public service came through in various roles, including serving as a city councilman and as the Executive Director of the Brockton Housing Authority, as outlined by the Duxbury Clipper. He also led the Office of Housing and Redevelopment for the State of Massachusetts, championing progress in the community.
