Two Arrested in Shocking Human Trafficking Case of 13-Year-Old in Tampa

The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office responded swiftly, finding the girl in a precarious situation at the A1 Motel in Tampa.

According to West Orlando News, the suspects, identified as 28-year-old Marlon Alfaro-Alvarez and 25-year-old Floyd Amaya Garvin, had communicated with the victim through social media, luring her under false pretenses. After taking her to a gas station, they brought her to the motel, where she was physically prevented from leaving and even offered money for sex, a deplorable act that highlights the desperation of her circumstances.

The Arrest and Charges

During the arrest, Alfaro-Alvarez attempted to evade capture by fleeing through a bathroom window but was soon detained. Both men now face several felony charges, including human trafficking. Alfaro-Alvarez specifically is charged with human trafficking for commercial sexual activity involving a minor under 18, along with other serious charges such as lewd and lascivious molestation and false imprisonment.
