Manatee County is witnessing a vibrant educational evolution with the introduction of bilingual educators from Spain, enhancing student experiences in local classrooms. Lucia Nogales Oveja, Gonzalo Villadangos, and Mayte Ruipérez are leading the charge as part of a program initiated by the Manatee School District, which aims to create dual-language classrooms in the area. This update also included the reinstatement of important safety lights in the school zone, which had been removed in November 2023. Margi Nanney from Citizens for Historic Oneco commended County Commissioner Amanda Ballard for swiftly resolving this critical safety issue, ensuring a secure environment for students and families.
