Beloved Firefighter Wayne Lee Remembered: A Life of Service and Love

Lakeland, FL, USA - Wayne Fredrick Lee, a cherished member of the community, passed away at the age of 62 on July 12, 2025, at Union Post Acute, surrounded by his loving family. Born on March 9, 1963, in Everett, Washington, Wayne was the son of June Carol Baldwin Bieling and the late Charles Andrew Lee II. He spent his formative years in Florida, graduating from Deerfield High School before pursuing further education, earning an AA degree from Edison Community College.
Wayne’s life was marked by service and dedication, having completed the Fire Academy in Ocala, Florida, and proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps. His commitment continued as he took on the role of firefighter with the Cape Coral Fire Department, earning the respect of his peers and the community. Wayne was also a devoted member of the Breakthrough Church of Spartanburg, where he actively participated in church activities.
A Life Rich in Interests
Beyond his professional achievements, Wayne had a vibrant personal life filled with hobbies that brought him joy. He enjoyed playing board games, cooking, hiking, hunting, and was passionate about reading the Bible. His interests reflected a man who treasured the finer elements of life and held fast to his beliefs.
Wayne leaves behind a loving family, including his wife, Lisa Clevenger Lee, and their sons: Cobin Upton (married to Courtney) from Lakeland, FL, Christian Andrew Lee, and Brock Berry from Enoree. He was a proud grandfather to two grandchildren, Chloe Ann Upton and Chance Michael, and is survived by his siblings and extended family. His brothers Ron Hebert, currently in Nepal, and Bill Hebert of Syracuse, NY, along with his sister Connie Bynes from Fort Myers, FL, mourn his loss along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Wayne’s legacy will also be remembered through the friends he cherished, including his best friend, Jimmy Morrison. He was predeceased by his brother David Hebert and brother-in-law Michael Clevenger, along with his nephew Danny Clevenger. A memorial service will honour his life, featuring military honors, scheduled for July 17, 2025, at 1:00 PM, conducted by Corbin Upton and Rev. Leroy Clevenger.
