Layton, Arkansas, USA - In a remarkable display of talent and hard work, four Arkansas Razorbacks have achieved All-America honors from the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association this year. The selected players are Wehiwa Aloy, Charles Davalan, Kuhio Aloy, and Zach Root, marking a significant milestone as it’s the highest number of All-Americans for the program in a single season, surpassing previous years where only three were recognized in both 2019 and 2021. Wehiwa Aloy stands out as a second-team All-American, reflecting his impressive performance throughout the season.

Wehiwa Aloy, who has been dubbed „The Prized One,“ has had a season to remember. Along with his All-America recognition, he was also named the 2025 SEC Player of the Year, following in the footsteps of Razorback great Andrew Benintendi, who last claimed the honor in 2015. Aloy boasts a batting average of .348, with 20 home runs and 64 RBIs, placing him among the top hitters in collegiate baseball. Specifically, his 20 home runs are tied for the fourth-most in program history, a testament to his offensive prowess. Notably, he also has the highest on-base plus slugging percentage at 1.126, indicating not just his ability to reach base but also to drive in scores.

Record-Setting Achievements

This impressive season figures don’t stop at Wehiwa. His brother, Kuhio Aloy, who serves as the designated hitter, also earned All-America honors with a batting average of .330, contributing 13 home runs and a team-leading 70 RBIs. Furthermore, Charles Davalan has made headlines with a .355 batting average, compiling 14 home runs without committing any errors in the outfield. Meanwhile, Zach Root, the only pitcher among the honorees, has maintained a solid ERA of 3.59, striking out 119 batters over 92 2/3 innings.

These accolades are part of a broader trend, as Arkansas‘ defense boasts the second-best fielding percentage in the nation at .984. Such defensive strength is critical, especially in high-stakes games, outlining Arkansas‘ comprehensive approach to the game this season.

Aloy’s Individual Recognition

As an individual standout, Wehiwa Aloy is also under the spotlight for various prestigious awards, including being a finalist for the Golden Spikes Award and semifinalist for the Dick Howser Trophy. With a batting line that includes a .355 average and a high slugging percentage of .686, it’s no surprise that he has excelled both at the plate and in the field. His defensive stats are equally impressive, making only five errors in 205 chances for a .976 fielding percentage, showcasing both his skills and reliability.

In the All-SEC selections, Wehiwa, Kuhio, and Charles Davalan all made it to the First Team, while Cam Kozeal joined them as a Second Team selection, further demonstrating Arkansas‘ dominance in the SEC this season. Overall, the Razorbacks have proven themselves a formidable force, with individual and collective efforts culminating in historic achievements this year.

It’s clear that there’s something profound about this year’s team and their accomplishments. Razorback fans can take pride as their team pushes the boundaries of what’s achievable in collegiate baseball.
