Lauderhill, Florida - In a troubling episode that unfolded in Lauderhill, a 27-year-old man named Imani Marlon Carey from Daytona Beach was arrested following a brazen crime spree that included breaking and entering and theft. The incidents began on June 2, when Carey allegedly smashed the glass door of the Hot Miami Shoes store in Lauderhill Mall, snatching a cash register box, a pair of sneakers, and around $100 in cash. Unfazed, Carey moved on shortly after to a Dollar General store located at 1180 North State Road 7. Authorities reported that he was seen on video stealing a lug wrench from a pickup truck and using it to break into the Dollar General. The situation escalated as officers later found him near the City Trend store, where he was attempting to damage another storefront when the police arrived. A search revealed over $80 in cash that included smaller bills and coins that matched the stolen register cash, alongside other items tied to his earlier robberies. Following these events, Carey was taken into custody and transported to the Broward County Main Jail.
