Under the guidance of head coach Terrell Davis, the team recently returned from the prestigious Adidas Track Nationals in Greensboro, North Carolina, where 20 members of the Ocala Track and Field Elite showcased their skills amidst sweltering 90-degree temperatures. This year, the squad made a notable shift by traveling by caravan, a decision driven by an increased number of athletes and their supportive families.

The competition at Adidas Nationals is no walk in the park; athletes must not only qualify for their state competitions but also meet the rigorous Adidas Nationals standards to earn the coveted title of Adidas All-American. Among those shining at the event was Isabel Head, who, as the 2025 Star-Banner Girls Track and Field Athlete of the Year, had her sights set on an impressive time of 53 to 54 seconds for the 400-meter run. Although she aimed high, Head finished with a time of 56.2 seconds, landing a commendable sixth-place finish and notching four All-American qualifying performances along the way.

Other standout athletes from West Port included Sasha West, Koi Davis, Alva Brown, Amani Bradley, and Royale Hopkins, each making their mark and earning Adidas All-American recognition. Coach Davis emphasized that the focus during these competitions remains on serious competition rather than leisure activities, a philosophy that has undoubtedly paid off.
