Community Mourns the Loss of Bob Uleski: A Lifelong Lorain Hero

This was certainly the case for Robert C. “Bob” Uleski, who passed away on August 23, 2025, at the age of 74 in Lorain, Ohio. Surrounded by family, Bob left behind a legacy of service, intellect, and warmth that will be remembered by many.
Bob’s devotion as a father and his remarkable career as a scientist are just a couple of the reasons he will be missed. He held the esteemed position of Flotilla Commander in the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, dedicating many years to community service focused on education and the protection of our waters. This organization has evolved significantly, and today its members contribute over 4.5 million service hours annually, saving around 500 lives each year. According to Wikipedia, the Auxiliary supports numerous maritime safety initiatives and plays a vital role in educating over half a million people on boating safety every year.

Celebrating Bob’s Legacy
Bob’s Celebration of Life is set for September 5, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Lake House at Veterans’ Memorial Park in Avon Lake, Ohio. His daughters, Erica Judy and Monica Bertrand, along with their families, will surely appreciate the support from friends and family during this challenging time.
He is survived by his daughters and granddaughters, including Elizabeth, Samantha, Bethany, and Eleanor. Bob’s contributions to the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary and his profound love for his family mark a life lived to its fullest.
