Born on September 7, 1941, in Blitchton, Florida, Chester dedicated his life to faith and service. He was the son of James and Aldonia Pullings and received his early education at Pine Grove Elementary School. Chester accepted Christ at a young age and remained a steadfast believer throughout his life, fulfilling numerous roles at his church, from Chairman of the Deacon Board to President of the Usher Board and Superintendent of Sunday School. Their union was a testament to their shared faith and dedication to service. Mattie, who was born on September 22, 1944, in Ocala, Florida, also led a life of notable contributions to her community. She was a member of This Cup Ministries and dedicated her life to evangelism and service. Mattie passed away before Chester on January 30, 2025, and like her husband, she left a deep mark on the hearts of many in the community, as stated by J. Hadley Funeral Home.

He was preceded in death by significant family members, including his wives, Dorothy Bell Pullings and Mattie, as well as his son, James “Mickey” Pullings, and his daughter, Naticha Hames.
