On the morning of April 2, 2026, a serious incident occurred in Jacksonville, Florida, involving a school bus and a semi-truck. The unfortunate event unfolded around 10:30 AM on Zoo Parkway near Imeson Park Boulevard. At least four kindergarten children sustained injuries when the truck rear-ended the bus as it was crossing the train tracks. The bus in question belonged to San Pablo Elementary School and was transporting students on a field trip to the Jacksonville Zoo and Botanical Gardens.

According to Duval County Public Schools, the families of the injured students were promptly notified, and support was provided to the other children on the bus. Thankfully, all remaining students were reported safe, and school staff were present to assist during this distressing time. The Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department confirmed that four students were taken to the hospital for treatment of their injuries. Video footage from the scene illustrated the substantial damage inflicted on the bus by the truck.
