Springfield Man Sentenced to Life for Brutal Carjacking Murder

Lakeland, Florida, USA - In a chilling case that has rocked the Springfield community, Kaysone Walters, aged 37, was sentenced to life in prison without the chance of parole for the brutal carjacking and murder of 25-year-old Brianne “Bri” Boiselle. The Crime Unfolded

Evidence revealed a calculated attack; Walters had seemingly planned to rob Boiselle, luring her away from a public area. The young woman, known for carrying her laptop and Nintendo Switch for schoolwork, fought back bravely during the violent encounter. Following the murder, Walters stole her car, drove it to Chicopee, and set it ablaze, attempting to cover his tracks.

The investigation bore fruit when police discovered Boiselle’s Nintendo Switch in a dresser at an apartment shared by Walters and his girlfriend, along with his wallet and ID. Springfield detectives, led by Capt. Trent Duda, identified Walters as the prime suspect and secured an arrest warrant on August 17, 2021. However, he had already fled the state by that time.

Walters’ arrest on October 7, 2021, in Lakeland, Florida, came after a widespread effort involving Springfield detectives, U.S. marshals, and the Hampden County Sheriff’s Department. The considerable evidence against him included surveillance footage, interview responses, and electronic data from Nintendo and Apple, which tracked his movements.
