Lake Mary QB Noah Grubbs Leads Rams to Thrilling Comeback Victory!
As the Florida high school football scene heats up, Lake Mary High School’s Rams have begun their season with an impressive undefeated record. The team’s recent victory over Osceola on August 29, 2025, showcased not only their resilience but also the remarkable talent of their quarterback, Noah Grubbs. According to Yahoo Sports, the Rams fought back from behind in both of their first games this season, ultimately defeating Osceola 17-12.
In a game that saw Osceola establish an early lead of 12-0, Lake Mary’s offense was initially stifled, with Grubbs feeling the pressure under center. However, a strong momentum shift came in the second half, highlighted by a stunning 71-yard kick return from Josh Robinson, which reignited Lake Mary’s offense. Grubbs ended the evening with an impressive performance, completing 11 of 15 passes for around 110 yards and throwing a critical 17-yard touchdown pass to Terrance Dixon. Defensively, Lake Mary made key adjustments, significantly improving their performance by shutting out Osceola in the second half, driven by notable contributions from players like Patrick Ryan and Richie Crouse.
The Comeback Kid
The Rams‘ prior game against Miami Norland showcased Grubbs‘ exceptional ability in clutch situations. As detailed by Sports Illustrated, Lake Mary trailed 29-7 at one point but mounted an incredible comeback in the game’s waning minutes, thanks to Grubbs‘ leadership. He completed 12 of 24 passes for 154 yards and three touchdowns—significantly overcoming two interceptions, one of which was returned for a touchdown. With just 44 seconds left on the clock, Grubbs connected for a last-minute touchdown, paving the way for a successful two-point conversion that ultimately clinched the victory at 30-29.
The 2025 season opener for Notre Dame, where Grubbs has committed, promises to be thrilling, with their matchup against Miami on the horizon. Rated as a four-star prospect and currently the 19th overall quarterback in the 247Sports composite rankings, Grubbs has garnered a staggering 26 scholarship offers from prestigious programs like Ohio State, Michigan, and Florida among others. Andrew Ivins, a football analyst, praised Grubbs as an athletic pocket passer with significant developmental upside, attributes that have certainly not gone unnoticed.
A Bright Future
While many quarterbacks are making waves in Florida this season, Grubbs‘ record is hard to ignore. As noted by Sporting News, he’s one of the top talents statewide, showcasing 8,287 passing yards and 103 touchdowns over his high school career. He joins the ranks of other notable quarterbacks like Dia Bell of American Heritage and Rhys Brush from Armwood, who are also turning heads.
As the season progresses, Lake Mary will be one to watch, especially with Grubbs at the helm. If early performances are any indication, there’s something to be said for the excitement surrounding this young quarterback’s future, both at Lake Mary and as he prepares for his journey at Notre Dame.
