As we celebrate the Fourth of July here in Wildwood, FL, it’s hard not to feel a sense of pride and excitement. This day marks the Independence Day of the United States, a time when we gather together to honor our nation’s history and enjoy some good old-fashioned fun. Last year, Wildwood offered a range of festive activities that brought the community together in a spirit of celebration. From the Pre 4th Of July Party at Lucky-U Cycles to the engaging Trivia Night – All-American Version! at The Sunny Pint, there was something for everyone. And who could forget the delightful Fairy Hair event at Cal’s Barber & Beauty in Brownwood? It was a colorful way to kick off the festivities! You can check out more details about these events here.

This year, while our memories of last year’s events warm our hearts, Wildwood, New Jersey, also had a stellar lineup of activities planned from July 3rd to July 6th. The atmosphere was electric, buzzing with the excitement of Beach Runs, family parades, live music, and of course, fireworks! The highlight was definitely the patriotic 5K Beach Run on July 3rd at Heather Road Beach, which welcomed participants of all skill levels. Runners could show off their best red, white, and blue attire to win prizes. It’s a fun, competitive way to kick off the holiday celebrations!

Exciting Events on the 4th

As the big day rolled around on July 4th, Wildwood Crest came alive with festivities. The morning kicked off with the adorable Patriot Pooch Parade where dogs donned their finest patriotic gear! Registration began bright and early at 8:30 AM, and the parade featured all sorts of furry friends strutting their stuff. It’s a sight to behold, trust me! Later, there was a live reading of the Declaration of Independence at 6:45 PM, followed by a heartfelt acknowledgment of military veterans and first responders. It truly brought a sense of unity and gratitude to the occasion.

The music scene was also vibrant, with the Legacy Band performing at 7 PM, getting everyone on their feet. And as night fell, the sky lit up with a spectacular fireworks display at 10 PM, synchronized to patriotic music playing over the Boardwalk. The thrill of watching those colorful bursts against the night sky is something every visitor should experience at least once!

What’s Next?

On July 5th, a planned drone light show was supposed to dazzle the crowd, but unfortunately, it was canceled. The anticipation of watching hundreds of drones illuminate the sky was palpable, and there’s hope for a reschedule. But not to worry—on July 6th, the 78th Army Band is set to perform at Fox Park at 7:30 PM, showcasing a variety of musical styles from rock to salsa. Admission is free, and attendees are encouraged to bring their own seating for a relaxed picnic vibe. It’s a fantastic way to wind down after a long weekend of celebrating.
