2070 Griffin Road, Fort Lauderdale, FL, USA - There’s something heartwarming about finding your next best friend at a local shelter. Currently, the Humane Society of Broward County has two lovely animals ready to find their forever homes—Harley, a six-year-old mixed-breed dog, and Mary, a charming rabbit. Harley, weighing in at 69 pounds, came to the shelter as a stray. Despite being microchipped, her previous owners never came to claim her. Now, this affectionate pup is on the lookout for a caring family. She’s not just friendly; Harley’s well-mannered, great with kids, and enjoys the simple pleasures of life, like playing and taking one of those long, blissful baths. And thanks to J.R. Dunn Jewelers, the adoption fee for Harley has been graciously covered!

Mary, on the other hand, also arrived as a lost soul, believed to have been an unwanted Easter gift left to fend for herself. In a trend we see too often in shelters, both Harley and Mary are part of a larger picture. There are more than a dozen rabbits at this shelter alone, all seeking loving homes. The good news? In celebration of the Florida Panthers’ recent Eastern Conference Championship win, all bunny adoption fees have been waived for a limited time. The Humane Society even offers helpful resources for new rabbit owners, making it easier than ever to welcome a furry friend into your life.
