Mark your calendars! The cities of Pembroke Pines and Miramar are joining forces for the much-anticipated Relay for Life, happening on Friday, March 20, 2026, from 5:00 PM to midnight. This special event aims to raise funds for cancer research and honor survivors, making it a heartfelt occasion for all involved.
Set against the backdrop of the Pembroke Pines Charter High School, located at 17189 Sheridan St., Southwest Ranches, FL 33331, this marks the 28th edition of Relay for Life in the region. Admission is absolutely free, so everyone is encouraged to come out and show their support!
Event Highlights
The event kicks off with a survivor dinner at 5:00 PM for registered survivors and caregivers, followed by an opening ceremony at 6:00 PM, which will feature performances, donation presentations, and a medal ceremony. By 7:00 PM, participants can take to the track in solidarity, walking in honor of those who have battled cancer.
A poignant moment will occur during the Torches of Hope and Luminaria ceremony, where homemade paper lanterns will be lit, and a moment of silence will be observed for loved ones lost to cancer. At 10:00 PM, get ready for some fun with the Miz Relay Contest, a spirited competition where men don dresses and answer questions to raise funds.
In addition to the track activities, attendees can visit team booths, enter raffles, and enjoy snacks and prizes. Plus, there’s a dedicated kids zone to keep the little ones entertained. The goal is to raise $100,000 by the end of the night, and as of now, an impressive $31,664.04 has already been collected towards that target.
