Mark your calendars, folks! July 4th is just around the corner, and Pompano Beach is gearing up for an explosive celebration. The July 4th Fireworks Spectacular is set to light up the night sky on Saturday, July 4th, starting at 5:00 PM. It promises to be a memorable day for families and friends alike, so get ready to celebrate our nation’s birthday in style!
Hosted by the charismatic Drew from Y100, the event will feature the upbeat sounds of DJ Mike Cooley, along with live music starting at 5:00 PM. If you’re a fan of R&B, you won’t want to miss JAM-X The Band, and for those who love a good throwback, the Surfin’ Rascals will be paying tribute to the Beach Boys. The grand fireworks display will commence at 9:00 PM, so make sure to find a good spot to enjoy the show!
What to Expect
As with any big event, there are some guidelines to keep in mind. You’re welcome to bring blankets and chairs to lounge on, but personal fireworks, glass containers, alcohol, drones, and pets are strictly prohibited. Safety first, right? Also, just a heads up—the pier will be closed on July 3rd and 4th, reopening on July 5th at noon. If you’re planning on driving, be aware that the Atlantic Blvd Bridge and 14th Street Causeway Bridge will be closed to vehicle traffic starting at 8:45 PM, but pedestrians can still cross. So, feel free to stroll across for that perfect view!
Parking can be a bit tricky, so it’s best to arrive early to secure a spot. The Pier Parking Garage charges $20 (cash only, no refunds), and there are additional parking options at the end of Atlantic Blvd and A1A, with street parking available at $4 per hour. It’s definitely worth the effort to ensure you’re there to soak up the festive atmosphere!
Fun Facts and Safety Measures
Interestingly, the fireworks display is environmentally friendly, meaning it won’t harm the ocean or marine life. That’s a win for our beautiful beaches! And speaking of safety, there’s been a recent push for improved safety measures at events, which highlights how important it is to keep everyone safe during celebrations like these. Organizations like AGBF Bund and DFV have released updated guidelines regarding safety concepts for events, focusing on helping fire departments and authorities establish effective plans. This ensures that all activities are enjoyable and safe for attendees, which is crucial for public gatherings.
So, whether you’re a local or just visiting, come down to Pompano Beach for this unforgettable celebration. With great music, delicious food, and, of course, a dazzling fireworks display, it’s sure to be a fantastic evening filled with joy and community spirit!
