Today, April 25, 2026, we spotlight the recent accomplishments of the Skiclub Malsburg-Marzell in their ongoing commitment to improving winter sports facilities. After years of dedicated efforts, the club has successfully completed the renovation of the Finnenbahn, just in time for the highly anticipated Fackellauf. According to Joachim Felscher, the project required a significant amount of “brainstorming and work effort,” indicating the club’s commitment to enhancing the experience for all participants.

In addition to the Finnenbahn, the Lipple-Hütte has also seen renovations, particularly in the kitchen area. The club has plans in place for future improvements, including the renewal of the east facade and an overhaul of the water supply scheduled for 2026. These upgrades highlight the organization’s focus on maintaining high standards for their facilities, ensuring they remain appealing for both current and future members.

Community Engagement and Future Plans

The Fackellauf has proven to be a popular event, with positive feedback from group leaders expressing enthusiasm about its draw. However, the club is eager to attract more adult participants in the upcoming events. Unfortunately, due to a lack of snow, this season did not include a Gleichenlauf, which typically garners excitement among the community.

In recognition of community contributions, Elke Trefzer was honored for over 30 years of service in children’s sports, a testament to the club’s commitment to fostering youth involvement in athletics. Financially, the club remains stable, even with considerable expenses from renovations and repairs. Kassenwartin Sabine Mages received accolades for her impeccable financial management, reflecting the club’s sound financial practices.

Leadership and Elections

Recent elections confirmed all board members for another two-year term, which includes Joachim Felscher, Ronja Weis, and Alexia Sommerfeld. Jan Happle was officially appointed as the Loipenwart, while Tim Happle and Martin Trefzer were elected as operators for the Pistenbully. Günter Seger continues his role as the Tourenwart Winter, ensuring that operations run smoothly during the snowy months.
