Fire Chief Ray Jadallah mentioned that heavy winds pushed the fire westward, impacting six businesses in total—two junkyards, a trucking company, and three small businesses. Residents were advised to stay indoors, keeping windows and doors closed to avoid the smoky conditions.

As of Tuesday morning, the fire was reported to be under control, but the aftermath left a trail of destruction. Firefighters worked tirelessly for over 14 hours, using hydrants and canals for water supply to extinguish the hotspots. Even as the fire was brought under control, 12 fire units remained on the scene to ensure complete safety. Eastbound lanes of Northwest 135th Street were closed, while westbound lanes reopened—but traffic congestion continued to plague the area.
Local business owners expressed their distress over the losses, with some seeing their livelihoods go up in flames. The impact stretched beyond Opa-locka, with smoke drifting as far as Interstate 75, reaching Pembroke Pines and Miramar. Residents with respiratory conditions were particularly urged to stay indoors, as the smoky conditions posed additional health risks.
