Discover the Transformative Power of Art at Between Form and Feeling Exhibition
Art lovers have something exciting to look forward to as September unfolds in Florida. Starting on September 2 and running until October 25, 2025, the Armory Art Center in West Palm Beach will unveil an exhibition titled „Between Form and Feeling.“ This engaging showcase features a trio of talented artists—Heather Couch, Renée Rey, and Terre Rybovich—who will explore themes of body, material, and myth through their works.
This exhibition focuses on intuition, transformation, and the unseen forces that shape our perceptions. The selected art forms range from tactile sculpture to ethereal paintings and embodied drawings. Visitors will be encouraged to ponder deep questions, such as: what emerges from surrendering to the artistic process and trusting the materials? Admission is free and open to all, making it a wonderful opportunity for community engagement.
Upcoming Reception and Hours
A special reception will take place on September 18, 2025, providing a chance for attendees to meet the artists and immerse themselves further in the creative environment. If you have any questions regarding visiting hours, feel free to contact the Armory Art Center at 561.832.1776.
Meanwhile, art interactions are also cropping up just a little north in St. Augustine. The Tactile Art Show, running from October 4 through October 27, is set to open at the St. Augustine Art Association. Organized in collaboration with the Florida School for the Deaf & Blind and the Florida DeafBlind Association, this exhibition is unique in its encouragement of hands-on experience.
Art You Can Touch
Among the featured artists is 19-year-old Breanna Raisor, who lost her vision due to a brain tumor. Raisor’s mixed media sculpture of a carousel exemplifies the therapeutic power of art—she discovered knitting during her treatment and now sells delightful stuffed animals through her online shop, Soul Over Sight. “This exhibit is for everyone, not just those who are blind,” says Jennifer Flynt, Executive Director of the St. Augustine Art Association. With free admission from Tuesdays to Sundays, visitors can interact with the art, touching and feeling the textures and forms.
For those who can’t make it in person, the exhibit will also offer online viewing options without tactile elements, so keep an eye out. The St. Augustine Art Association continues to welcome artist submissions, ensuring a varied and lively selection of tactile art that speaks to the diverse community.
Whether you head to West Palm Beach for „Between Form and Feeling“ or make your way to St. Augustine for the Tactile Art Show, there’s something for every art aficionado—and perhaps a few surprises along the way!
Don’t miss these opportunities to connect with art in fresh and exciting ways!
