Today, we celebrate some remarkable milestones in our community, particularly in the realm of support for children facing tough times. TRISTAR has recently announced significant leadership developments and a partnership with Kids’ Chance of Florida, both aimed at making a lasting impact. As we gear up for these changes, let’s dive deeper into what this means for our local children and families.

TRISTAR is pleased to announce that Tammy Boyd, the Regional Business Development and Client Services Director, has been appointed as the President of Kids’ Chance of Florida, starting in 2026. Tammy has been a dedicated member of Kids’ Chance since 2017, where she has served as both an ambassador and Treasurer. Her personal experiences with loss fuel her determination to support children whose lives have been altered by parental injuries at work.

Commitment to Scholarships

In a generous move, TRISTAR has committed $100,000 over the next four years to Kids’ Chance of America, specifically for scholarships that assist children whose parents have suffered serious or fatal injuries while on the job. This initiative is particularly timely as Kids’ Chance of Florida, founded in 2015, gears up to celebrate ‘A Decade of Impact’ in 2025. During the 2025-2026 academic year, they plan to award 20 scholarships totaling an impressive $78,000, the largest amount they have given in a single year.

Since its inception, Kids’ Chance of Florida has awarded a total of 105 scholarships, amounting to $453,000, with an average of $4,000 per scholarship. The organization’s recent 5th Annual Golf Tournament raised $87,000, demonstrating strong community support with 21 sponsors and a remarkable 70% of golfers returning year after year.

Educational Opportunities for Children

In addition to financial support, education plays a crucial role in the development of children, which is why PBS KIDS offers a variety of free games designed for children aged 2 to 8. These games, based on popular shows like Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood and Wild Kratts, help kids develop essential skills in science, math, creativity, and more. The PBS KIDS Games App is user-friendly and ensures a safe gaming experience for children, allowing parents peace of mind while their kids learn through play.

New games are regularly added to the app, providing ongoing opportunities for exploration and learning. Parents can also find information about TV series, local PBS KIDS schedules, and additional PBS KIDS apps, making it a comprehensive resource for educational entertainment. The Importance of Education

Education, known in German as “Bildung,” goes beyond just learning skills; it embodies a lifelong process of personal and cultural development. It harmonizes the mind and heart, fostering personal transformation and social unity. As we support organizations like Kids’ Chance, we must remember that education helps nurture individual talents and capabilities, laying the groundwork for a more united society.

In a world where children face various challenges, initiatives like those from TRISTAR and Kids’ Chance of Florida are vital. They not only provide financial assistance but also highlight the importance of education and personal growth. For more insights on the concept of education, you can explore further here.

As we move forward, let’s continue to support these initiatives and ensure that every child has the opportunity to thrive and succeed, despite the adversities they may face.
