Today is May 26, 2026, and there’s some exciting news for golf fans! The PGA Tour has announced a major revamp of the Florida Swing schedule for the 2027 season. This shake-up was revealed by the Tour on a Tuesday, and it certainly has everyone buzzing.
So, what’s changing? Well, first off, the Cadillac Championship is making its way back to March, a shift from its previous May slot. This tournament will now take place from March 15 to 21, right after the Players Championship. It’s an exciting time, especially since this change coincides with the thrilling March Madness college basketball event. Meanwhile, the Valspar Championship will find its new home in May, specifically from the 3rd to the 9th, making it the last regular event before the PGA Championship.
Florida Swing Schedule!
The Florida Swing will kick off with the Cognizant Classic, running from February 25 to 28. Following that, the Cadillac Championship will take place in Doral, Florida, from March 4 to 7. Just after that, golf fans can look forward to The Players Championship on March 11 to 14, and then the Arnold Palmer Invitational from March 15 to 21. The entire lineup is shaping up to be quite a spectacle!
But that’s not all. The schedule adjustments extend into May too. The CJ Cup Byron Nelson in Dallas is being moved up a week to follow the Zurich Classic of New Orleans, ensuring a smoother flow in the calendar. And let’s not forget, the Valspar Championship will be the last event before the PGA Championship, which is set for May 20 to 23 in Frisco, Texas.
Interestingly, there’s also a tournament scheduled in San Diego, just a week after the season opener at The American Express in Palm Desert, California. Currently, this San Diego event is marked down as the Torrey Pines event in the schedule, but it’s worth noting that the long-time sponsor, Farmers Insurance, has not renewed its title sponsorship; a new sponsor has yet to be announced.
Oh, and here’s a fun fact: the last time The American Express, which used to be known as the Bob Hope Classic, kicked off the season was back in 1985! That year, Lanny Wadkins triumphed over Craig Stadler in an exhilarating five-hole playoff at Indian Wells CC. Those were the days!
For those keen on the complete picture, the PGA Tour is gradually rolling out the full 2027 schedule. The West Coast Swing, for instance, includes events in San Diego from January 28 to 31, although there’s no sponsor confirmed for that yet. And, of course, the Masters will take place from April 8 to 11, followed by a series of thrilling tournaments leading up to the U.S. Open in June.
