Palm Beach County leaders have recently given the green light for a significant project that will replace the decking and railing of this beloved local landmark. With a unanimous vote, the board authorized a work order worth up to $1,278,332.50 to Wynn & Sons Environmental Construction Company, LLC.
The project, set to kick off on March 16, 2026, will involve removing and disposing of the existing decking panels, railings, rail posts, supporting runners, and fasteners. Following that, new decking and railing will be installed across an impressive 990 linear feet of the pier. With an estimated completion time of just 120 days, locals can look forward to enjoying a refreshed pier in no time!
Commitment to Recreation
This initiative reflects Palm Beach County’s strong commitment to maintaining and enhancing public recreational facilities. The funding for this project is sourced from the Parks and Recreation Department’s capital funds, which will oversee the administration of the work order. Notably, the contract includes a Small Business Enterprise (SBE) participation goal of 20%, and Wynn has exceeded expectations by agreeing to 22.51%. To date, overall SBE participation on the contract stands at 24.8%, showcasing the county’s dedication to supporting local businesses.
