Four Arrested in Florida Keys Drug Bust: Stolen Firearm Found!

Lake Worth, Florida - In a startling incident on U.S. 1 in Monroe County, Florida, four individuals were arrested following a traffic stop that revealed a trove of illegal items, including firearms and marijuana. Around 7:15 p.m., officers detected a strong odor emanating from the vehicle they pulled over near Mile Marker 103, leading to a significant discovery.

The driver, 21-year-old Demerion Altwon Fields from Greenacres, faces serious charges. These include driving without a valid license, grand theft of a firearm, and possession of a firearm while subject to a risk protection order. Fields is notably restricted from possessing firearms due to an existing extreme risk protection order against him. The remaining suspects include Isaiah Dimitris McCrary, Jimmy Cliff Leger, and Todd Bradley Presendieu, all of whom are also facing various drug and firearms-related charges (TampaFP).

During the search, law enforcement recovered two loaded 9mm handguns, one of which was reported stolen from a vehicle during a Florida Panthers game. They also found two loaded extended magazines and approximately 22.5 grams of marijuana. The arrests come on the heels of another traffic-related drug bust just days earlier involving a Fort Pierce man named Christopher Butcher. His arrest occurred on September 6, when deputies reported a similar scenario on U.S. 1, where a strong smell of marijuana led to the discovery of thirteen amphetamine pills and a .45-caliber handgun in Butcher’s truck.
