In the vibrant community of Boynton Beach, Sean Iglehart has made quite a name for himself, blending his deep family roots with a passion for gastronomy. With his family established in the Palm Beaches since the 1930s, Iglehart has been instrumental in shaping the region’s polo culture, with his grandfather being a world-class polo player. Growing up in Ocean Ridge, he opened the Sweetwater Cocktail Bar and Kitchen in the early 2010s, and now he’s taken the culinary scene by storm with his latest venture, the Second Rodeo.

Set to open in January 2025, the Second Rodeo promises a unique dining experience focused on local ingredients and sustainable cuisine. Chef James Cruz, a fellow Palm Beach County native, will lead the culinary charge at this new hotspot. Seafood lovers will appreciate that all fish is sourced daily from Captain Clay and Sons Seafood Market in nearby Delray Beach. The cooking method is equally distinctive, featuring dishes prepared over Florida red oak, giving a deliciously smoky flavor to every bite.

Dining Experience at Second Rodeo

The menu at Second Rodeo has a strong American culinary influence, and it changes seasonally to reflect the best available ingredients. The main lounge, measuring 700 square feet, provides a cozy yet stylish atmosphere for diners. One of the unique aspects of the restaurant is its cross-utilization of ingredients between the food and cocktail menu, ensuring that nothing goes to waste. Speaking of cocktails, the drink selection is avant-garde yet designed to handle high service volume, featuring batch cocktails that allow for prompt service.

From 6 PM to 10 PM, diners can enjoy the warmth of the fire as they indulge in a variety of delectable dishes, followed by a late-night menu available from 10 PM to 2 AM. Additionally, in December, Second Rodeo expanded its offerings by opening a café, Second Rodeo Provisions, right next door, further solidifying its presence in the community.

Not far from Iglehart’s culinary haven, another exciting dining destination has emerged in Palm Beach—the Polo Room. Opened on December 3, this restaurant is led by polo icon Nacho Figueras and offers a menu inspired by his Argentine heritage, featuring seafood, prime meats, and handcrafted empanadas. The dining experience is accentuated by rich textures and equestrian-inspired design elements, making it a feast for both the palate and the eyes. The bar program boasts signature cocktails, including The Twenty-Two Below Zero ºC Martini, and a wine list that showcases over 300 selections from iconic vineyards.

As the culinary landscape in Palm Beach County continues to evolve, establishments like Second Rodeo and The Polo Room highlight the rich cultural heritage and community spirit that have long defined this region.
