The Florida women’s golf team is gearing up for an exciting weekend as they return to the Mark Bostick Golf Course for the 54th annual Gators Invitational. Currently ranked 7th, Florida is eager to capture their 28th title in this prestigious event, having dominated with 9 wins in the last 10 years. With a roster of talented players, the Gators are ready to showcase their skills against a competitive field.

This year’s tournament features a strong lineup, including teams like Campbell, Clemson, Georgia Southern, FAU, FIU, FGCU, Miami, and several ranked opponents such as No. 49 Michigan, No. 14 North Carolina, No. 27 Oklahoma, South Alabama, USF, and No. 40 Virginia. Each day of the tournament will consist of 18 holes, with the course set at a par of 70.

Florida’s Team and Recent Performance

The Gators’ lineup includes Megan Propeck, Paula Francisco, Siuue Wu, Katelyn Huber, and Addison Klonowski. Additionally, Inès Archer, Elaine Widjaja, and Sophie Stevens will compete as individuals. Florida boasts the largest contingent among the 14 teams participating, reflecting their strong presence in collegiate golf.

Last year, the Gators made headlines by clinching both the team and individual titles, marking their first double victory since 2021. Most recently, at the Moon Golf Invitational on February 17, Florida finished in 6th place, their first outing outside the top 5 since 2024. Propeck and Francisco both finished tied for 20th with a score of +3, adding to their impressive record of six Top-25 finishes this season.

Free Entry and Tournament Schedule

For golf enthusiasts and fans, the Gators Invitational offers free admission throughout the weekend. The tournament kicks off on Friday and Saturday at 8:30 AM, with the final round starting on Sunday at 9:00 AM. This is a golden opportunity to witness some of the best collegiate golfers in action, right here in Florida.

Looking back at the previous year’s event, the Gators faced a change in format just two days before the tournament due to potential rain, shifting to 36 holes on the first day and 18 on the second. Despite the challenges, Florida emerged victorious, showcasing their resilience and teamwork. Redshirt freshman Addison Klonowski and true freshman Jessica Guiser played pivotal roles, with Guiser even scoring an eagle on hole 12 during her individual play.

Looking Ahead

The Gators have had a strong season thus far, winning three tournaments and aiming for a fourth title to further cement their reputation in collegiate golf. After the Gators Invitational, they will head to the Honors Course in Chattanooga, Tennessee, to compete against formidable teams, including No. 11 Virginia and the University of Michigan.

As excitement builds for the Gators Invitational, all eyes will be on Florida’s talented roster as they strive to add another championship to their storied history. Whether you’re a die-hard golf fan or just looking for a fun weekend activity, this event promises to deliver thrilling moments on the green.
