For the amateurs, there are divisions aplenty. The MA1 · Mixed Amateur 1 category has eight contenders, including Timothy Ahern from Gainesville and Mieshko Debicki from Orlando. Then there’s the MA3 · Mixed Amateur 3 division, which boasts a whopping 15 players eager to showcase their skills.
Exciting Extras and Logistics
Check-in opens at 8:00 AM, with a brief player meeting at 8:45 AM. The first round kicks off promptly at 9:00 AM, and the second round will follow about an hour after the last player finishes the first. If you’re in a division with fewer than three players, don’t worry—you may be shifted into another division to keep the competition lively.
And for those who love a little extra thrill, there’s an optional Ace Pot for just $5. If a player hits an ace, the pot gets split evenly among them, but if nobody sinks one, there’ll be a throw-off for some fun prizes! Plus, the Closest to the Pin (CTP) competition offers even more chances to snag some goodies, with two CTPs for both long and short pads. Sounds like a blast!
Don’t forget that there will be a raffle after the second round. It’s all about community and fun here, folks! The tournament also has a relatively low fee structure, with only $6 total going to the PDGA and the Gainesville Chain Hawks DGC for maintenance and setup. It’s a small price to pay for such an exciting day!
