The standout performances of two Owls, Josiah Parker and Devin Vanterpool, have earned them well-deserved recognition, showcasing the talent flourishing within the program.

Freshman guard Josiah Parker has made a significant impact this season, being named the 2026 American Freshman of the Year. His impressive stats include seven freshman of the week awards throughout the 2025-26 season. Parker recorded a single-game best of 25 points, making him the highest-scoring Owl freshman since 2019. Additionally, he pulled down 14 rebounds in a game, a feat not seen since Vlad Goldin in 2023 and the most by an FAU freshman since Madiaw Niang in 2018. In February alone, Parker averaged 16.5 points and 9.8 rebounds per game, demonstrating his skill as he made his first collegiate starts.

Celebrating the Owls’ Achievements

Not only did Parker shine, but redshirt sophomore guard Devin Vanterpool also garnered accolades, being named the American’s Most Improved Player of the Year. Vanterpool started in 24 games this season, setting career-highs in every statistical category. He led the Owls with an average of 15.8 points per game and 37 steals, and was the only Owl to score 30 points in a game this season, a milestone not achieved since Johnell Davis in January 2024. His ability to consistently score over 20 points in eight games highlights his growth and importance to the team.

Both Parker and Vanterpool were recognized among the conference’s best, with Parker’s unanimous selection as Freshman of the Year and Vanterpool earning a spot on the Third Team All-Conference.
