Get ready, runners! The highly anticipated Dick’s Run to the Sun 5K is set to take place on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at 8:00 AM. This exciting event is proudly organized by the Florida Striders Track Club and will be held at 455 Park Avenue, Orange Park, FL. Participants can look forward to a fast, scenic, and flat out-and-back course along the picturesque River Road in Orange Park.

Registration for the Run to the Sun 5K is now open! Make sure to sign up online to guarantee your T-shirt, as there will be limited availability for late registrations. The first 600 finishers will even receive finisher medals, ensuring every participant feels celebrated. Event Highlights

The Florida Striders Track Club, which has been promoting running in Clay County since 1978, is excited to support local youth programs through this event. All proceeds from the race will go towards youth fitness initiatives, reinforcing the club’s commitment to the community. After the race, participants can enjoy snacks and water, with hydration stations available along the course.

Awards will be given for the overall best male and female participants, as well as for Masters, Grand Masters, and the top three finishers in each age group. The awards ceremony is scheduled for 9:00 AM, and it’s important for winners to be present to collect their prizes.

Registration Details

<pFor those looking to pick up their race packets, you can do so on Friday, April 17, from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM at either of the following 1st Place Sports locations:

  • 1st Place Sports – Baymeadows: 3931 Baymeadows Rd, Jacksonville
  • 1st Place Sports – San Marco: 2016 San Marco Blvd, Jacksonville

Race day packet pickup will begin at 6:15 AM at the start line. Keep in mind that online registration will close at 12:00 PM on Thursday, April 16, and in-store registration will be available until April 17.

While there are no refunds unless optional refund protection is purchased, members of the Striders can save $5 on registration fees. A special thank you goes out to Dick’s Sporting Goods for being the title sponsor, and to bestbet for their support and generosity.

Community Involvement

If you’re passionate about running, the Florida Striders Track Club also hosts Wednesday training sessions every week at 6:30 PM at Orange Park High School, located at 2300 Kingsley Ave, Orange Park, FL. While these sessions are open only to current club members for insurance reasons, they are a great way to train and connect with fellow runners.
