Competing at the Intercollegiate Florida Invite held on August 29, 2025, the FSU women’s team showcased its prowess by securing a commendable second place overall. Their strong performance was only overshadowed by the formidable presence of the No. 11 Florida team, which nabbed the top spot with 52 points. The Seminoles finished with a solid 64 points, marking a strong start to the season.

Leading the charge for the women’s squad was Nicole Dinan, who finished an impressive fifth in the 5-kilometer race, clocking in at a personal best of 17:18.0. Ava Povich placed eighth, wrapping up the top ten with a time of 17:52.3. The fifth scorer for the team was Avery Cahoon, finishing 26th at 18:46.9.

Men’s Team Performance

The men’s team faced a steeper challenge on their 8-kilometer course, finishing fourth overall with 98 points. Kaden Levings marked his presence by being the top finisher for the Seminoles, crossing the line in 14th place with a time of 25:17.9. Following him was Lucas Bouquot, whose athleticism placed him 25th at 25:35.0. Zach Trotter and Bernardo Barnhart, who had his collegiate debut, rounded out the scoring by finishing 28th and 31st, while Garrett Stickley brought the team’s score home in 32nd with a time of 25:49.9.

The competition not only tested the athleticism of these young runners but also their tenacity and spirit. Both teams are gearing up for the next competition at the Southern Showcase, set to take place on September 12 in Huntsville, Alabama. The Seminoles are hopeful that with continued training and teamwork, they can climb even higher in the standings as the season progresses.

Looking Ahead

According to TFRRS, important meets include the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championships from June 11-14, and the ACC Outdoor Track & Field Championships from May 15-17, alongside other integral races leading to these championships.
