Today is the 29.03.2026, and Escambia County residents should be aware of some important information regarding voter registration and upcoming elections. Recently, Escambia County Supervisor of Elections Robert Bender issued a warning about unofficial voter registration mailings being sent out by the “Voter Participation Center.” Approximately 2,825 residents are set to receive these mailings in the coming days, which contain official-looking registration applications and return envelopes addressed to the local Elections Office.
Bender clarified that the Voter Participation Center is not affiliated with his office or staff. This is particularly concerning as similar third-party campaigns in other Florida counties have led to clerical errors, including registration forms sent to deceased individuals, minor children, and even pets. Furthermore, there is a growing concern that these mailers may confuse individuals who have lost their voting rights due to felony convictions, potentially misleading them about their eligibility to register.
What to Do If You Receive a Mailing
If you receive one of these mailings, Bender encourages you to contact the Elections Office before completing any voter registration application. You can check your registration status by visiting escambiavotes.gov/am-i-registered or by calling the Elections Office at (850) 595-3900. For those looking to register or update their registration, you can visit RegisterToVoteFlorida.gov.
Additionally, if you wish to be removed from the Voter Participation Center’s mailing list, you can reach out to them directly at (757) 793-2671.
