As the Florida high school softball season heats up, local teams are making waves in both regional and state rankings. In a recent shift, Trenton has climbed to the No. 2 spot in the all-classification regional softball rankings, while also asserting itself in the statewide standings. According to Mainstreet Daily News, Montverde Academy dominates the all-classification rankings, holding onto the No. 1 position after a six-game winning streak was snapped by Bartow, the 6A region finalist. Montverde secured seven of the ten first-place votes and a commendable 197 voting points. Leading the Academy are standout players Nevaeh Williams, an Ole Miss commit, and Addison Poe, who has signed with Central Florida.

Trenton, the two-time defending state champion, is certainly living up to its reputation. It boasts an undefeated record and has earned 190 total voting points, enough to clinch the No. 2 spot. Notably, the Rural No. 1 Tigers clinched the remaining three first-place votes. They’ve also shown their prowess recently with strong performances, including a commanding 12-0 victory over Crystal River, which dropped to No. 6 after a challenging week. In contrast, Class 4A Baker County has been boosted to No. 3, followed closely by 2A Trinity Catholic at No. 4, while Eustis slipped to No. 5 after losing to Montverde.
