Today is June 9, 2026, and I’m sitting here in Bonifay, soaking in all the excitement surrounding the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA). This year has been nothing short of spectacular, showcasing some of the best talent in rodeo history. From thrilling performances to heart-pounding competitions, the world of rodeo is alive and kicking, and I can’t wait to share some highlights!

First up, let’s talk about the champions of the last few years. The PRCA Champions have been a fierce bunch. In 2025, for instance, we saw Baby Baby He’s Hot as the Pick-Up Man, owned by Vanessa and Tyler Kraft, who really made quite the impression. And how about Josie Conner? Winning the Breakaway Roping with Dutch Stylish Drifter, she’s certainly one to watch! The barrel racing title went to Hailey Kinsel riding Sister DM Sissy Hayday, while Riley Webb took home the Tie-Down Roping title with Rudy Marked Up Cat. It’s a real showcase of skill and dedication!

2023: A Year to Remember

Looking back at 2023, Baby Baby He’s Hot was still in the spotlight, but this time as a rider, with Tyler Kraft at the reins. Shelby Boisjoli took the Breakaway Roping with Onna No Wimpy Turns, proving her mettle once again. Taycie Matthews wowed the crowd in barrel racing, riding Poprocks Fame Fire, while the Tie-Down Roping saw a trio of talented riders: Shane Hanchey, Caleb Smidt, and Hunter Herrin, all gunning for glory on Bugsy Stylish Bugsy!

And let’s not forget about the Steer Wrestling! Eddie EDS Famous Bar was the shining star with riders like Tanner Milan and Dalton Massey giving it their all. It’s this kind of talent that keeps folks coming back year after year. The camaraderie and competition create a unique atmosphere that’s hard to replicate.

PRCA’s Commitment to Growth

The PRCA isn’t just about the competitions, though. According to their 2023 Annual Report, they’ve been on a roll with a membership increase to 6,600, marking the highest number in over a decade. They hosted 790 PRCA-sanctioned events with total payouts skyrocketing to a record $74.5 million! That’s a lot of prize money getting handed out!

With 916 televised performances, there’s been a significant uptick in viewership, too. You can feel the excitement brewing in the air, especially with the added revenue from sponsorships and the successful youth initiatives, which had around 7,500 participants! It’s clear the PRCA is committed to fostering the next generation of rodeo stars.

Looking Forward

As we move forward, the focus remains on growth and development, not just for the PRCA but for the sport itself. With a commitment to excellence, integrity, and innovation, the future looks bright for rodeo enthusiasts and competitors alike. It’s an exhilarating time to be a part of this community, whether you’re a seasoned cowboy, a budding participant, or an enthusiastic fan cheering from the stands.

So here’s to the incredible journey of rodeo, where every twist and turn brings new stories and unforgettable moments. Let’s keep the spirit alive, and who knows? Maybe next year, we’ll see even more records broken and new champions crowned!
