In an exciting turn of events for the Florida Gators, Tramond Collins, a four-star athlete from Cottondale, Florida, has officially re-committed to the Gators under the leadership of new head coach Jon Sumrall. Collins, who stands at an impressive 6 feet 2 inches and weighs 190 pounds, is ranked among the top 100 recruits for the class of 2027. According to Rivals and 247 Sports, he is the fourth-best athlete in this class.

Originally, Collins pledged his commitment to the Gators on June 21, 2025, becoming the first recruit for the class of 2027. However, after the dismissal of coach Billy Napier on December 14, 2025, he decommitted from the program. During his time away, the Gators secured commitments from two other recruits: four-star defensive back Amare Nugent and three-star tight end Jackson Ballinger. Now, with Collins back in the fold, he holds the title of the highest-rated recruit in the class for Florida.

The Gators’ Recruiting Landscape

The Gators are not stopping with Collins. They are looking to bolster their roster further, with predictions from On3/Rivals suggesting potential commitments from several four-star recruits, including Tyler Alexander, Elias Pearl, Anthony Jennings, and Frederick Ards III. Additionally, 247 Sports has forecasted a commitment from five-star offensive lineman Maxwell Hiller.

Currently, Florida’s recruiting class for 2027 ranks 15th in Rivals’ Industry Football Team Recruiting Rankings. With Collins’ re-commitment, the Gators are expected to climb higher as more top recruits make their decisions. The stability of this class, especially during a coaching transition, is impressive, reflecting the groundwork laid by Napier’s staff and the energy brought by Sumrall’s team.
