She passed away at Jackson Hospital, leaving behind a legacy of love and laughter. Born on December 10, 1942, in Glenwood, Georgia, Carolyn was the cherished daughter of Herman and Gladys Vann. Her life was filled with family, and she was predeceased by several siblings, including Pauline Butler, Christine Geiger, Russell Vann, and Ertis Vann, along with her niece Earline “Dee” Burns.
Carolyn was married for 65 wonderful years to Grady Roberson. Together, they raised three children: Lynn Wimberly (Rick), Randy Roberson, and Melanie Mager (Chuck). She took immense pride in her family, which also includes her grandchildren: Brandy Coburn (Shane), Jordan Barnes (Brian), Jesse Wimberly (Kristi), Jade Ferrante (Anthony), Hunter Barnes (Ashley), and Colby Silverthorne. Carolyn became a great-grandmother to six little ones: Grace Mills, Jayden Bennett, Brodhi Crain, Brayden Crain, Giada Ferrante, and Jessa Coburn.
Life and Legacy
Graduating from Glenwood High School in 1960, Carolyn was a spirited cheerleader, known for her infectious energy. Shortly after graduation, she married Grady and they moved to Bristol, Florida, in the 1970s before settling in Blountstown in 1979. Carolyn dedicated many years of her life working as a bookkeeper for Simpson Auto Parts, a role she approached with diligence and care.
Carolyn’s passion for her family was matched only by her love for reading, beach excursions, and the annual beach trips with the “Vann Clan.” She was known for her exceptional sense of humor and memorable facial expressions, which brought joy to those around her. Her protective nature and unwavering love for her family were hallmarks of her character.
Final Farewell
To honor her life, services will be held at Adams Funeral Home Chapel on March 9, 2026, at 11:00 AM, with visitation beginning at 10:00 AM. Carolyn will be laid to rest at Pine Memorial Cemetery near Blountstown, surrounded by her loved ones who have gone before her. The arrangements are being expertly handled by Adams Funeral Home.
