Today is March 28, 2026, and we’re diving into the vibrant world of music with two bands that are making waves in their own unique ways. Whether you’re a fan of alternative rock or nostalgic early 2000s sounds, there’s something here for everyone.
First up, let’s talk about Everclear, the iconic alternative rock band that has been rocking the scene since 1992. Founded by Art Alexakis, who serves as the lead singer and guitarist, Everclear recently celebrated a remarkable milestone: their 30th anniversary. With 11 studio albums under their belt, including four that have received Gold or Platinum certifications, the band has sold over 6 million albums and boasts 12 Top-40 hits across various radio charts. Their memorable tracks like “Santa Monica,” “Father of Mine,” and “I Will Buy You A New Life” have left a lasting mark on the music landscape.
Everclear’s Journey and Philanthropy
Art Alexakis faced numerous personal and creative challenges after the end of his previous band, Colorfinger, in Portland. These experiences led to the creation of Everclear, with their debut album “World of Noise” emerging from early demos and the EP “Nervous & Weird” in 1993. After gaining traction in the college radio scene, the band was signed by Capitol Records, paving the way for their major-label debut, “Sparkle and Fade” (1995), which featured the hit “Santa Monica.”
In 2019, Alexakis was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, a condition he had likely been living with for nearly two decades. Since then, he’s made it a mission to give back, donating a dollar from each ticket sold to charities such as the Sweet Relief Musicians Fund and the National MS Society. The band also celebrated their legacy by re-releasing “World Of Noise” as a 30th-anniversary edition in 2022, which includes six bonus tracks and a North American tour. Their live concert in Los Angeles was recorded for an album titled “Live at The Whisky a Go Go,” featuring new studio tracks.
Alexakis also organizes the annual Summerland Tour, showcasing popular bands from the 90s. In 2019, he released his first solo album, “Sun Songs,” adding yet another feather to his already illustrious cap.
Introducing Echostone
On the other side of the musical spectrum, we have Echostone, a rock band hailing from the Carolinas, formed in 2021. They are revitalizing the nostalgic sound of the early 2000s while blending it with modern influences. With four million streams and 14 singles released, each accompanied by its own music video, Echostone is carving out a niche for themselves in the rock music scene.
Fronted by singer Wes DeLoach, the band has shared stages with notable artists like Scott Stapp and Gavin DeGraw. What’s particularly impressive is that DeLoach produces their music, allowing for a raw and authentic sound. They also boast endorsements from recognizable brands such as Paul Reed Smith Guitars, SJC Drums, and Morley Pedals, solidifying their reputation within the industry.
