The TMB boys’ track and field team recently showcased their skills at the Panther II Invite, marking their first home meet of the spring season. Eli Lightfoot was the star of the day, taking home victories in both the long jump and triple jump. Lightfoot leaped an impressive 19 feet 8.5 inches in the long jump and soared 35 feet 9 inches in the triple jump, contributing significantly to the team’s overall performance.

Despite the spirited efforts, the TMB boys finished in fourth place overall. Tyler Arnold earned a commendable second place in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:14.12, while Hunter Ostgaard secured third in the 200-meter dash (24.03) and fourth in the 100-meter dash (11.81). The 4×200 meter relay team, consisting of Owen Maguire, Chanse Swenhaugen, Ty Yackely, and Braden Morgan, also brought home a third-place finish with a time of 1:36.47. Girls’ Performance Highlights

On the girls’ side, Lauren Knakmuhs made her mark by finishing second in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:52.03. Elizabeth Buyck also had a notable performance, taking second in the pole vault with a height of 7 feet. However, the TMB girls ended up in eighth place overall, demonstrating the depth of talent in the competition.

In the girls’ individual events, there were several noteworthy performances: Buyck finished 13th in the 100 meters (14.74), while Brooke Swenhaugen and Aishwarya Moua placed 17th and 27th, respectively. The girls’ 4×100 meter relay team finished fourth overall, showcasing strong teamwork and speed.

The TMB Panthers are gearing up for their next competitions, set to take place on April 23 in Worthington and at the Bob Nagle Relays in Pipestone on Tuesday.
