Local Vietnam Veteran Walter Gorski Passes Away at 82, Leaving Legacy

Bradenton, FL, USA - Walter S. Gorski, an honorable Vietnam Veteran, passed away on June 19, 2025, at the age of 82, after facing a brief illness. Born in Providence, he was the son of Stanley and Esther Gorski. Walter was a devoted family man, remembered as much for his outdoor adventures as for his legacy of service during a tumultuous time in history.
Mr. Gorski served in the Vietnam War from October 1966 to December 1967, as a member of the Service Battery 1st Howitzers Battalion, 30th Artillery. His time in Vietnam is a significant chapter in a life that included years of work as a screen printer across Pennsylvania and Rhode Island, where he retired in June 2001 from Slater Screen Print Company in Pawtucket, RI. One can only imagine the depth of stories he must have carried from both his military service and his long-time profession.
A Fond Farewell
He leaves behind his daughters Kimberly DeGraw (husband Russ), Karen Gorski, Jacquelyn Gorski, and son Kevin (wife Heather Devine). Tragically, he was also the father of the late Walter K. Gorski and brother to the late Daniel Gorski. His grandchildren brought him joy, especially Emily Katherine Gorski, whom he affectionately referred to as „Grumpa.“ Walter fulfilled many roles in life, but being a grandfather truly lit up his later years.
Walter shared a special bond with Joan Mignacca, and together they traveled extensively, making memories in Bradenton, FL. His passion for life was evident in his love of fishing, long daily walks, and spending quality time with his children.
