The incident took place on Monday afternoon, near Davista Avenue and Sawtell Street, as a man and a woman were clearing a property when they became embroiled in a dispute with their neighbor, Aaron Rodriguez, 32 years old.
During the confrontation, the man called 911 for help but was shot by Rodriguez while still on the line. Sadly, he succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The woman, who was also shot, managed to flee as the situation escalated. Emergency responders, including the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office and firefighters, arrived quickly to provide first aid and transport the injured to the hospital.
Confrontation with Deputies

Fortunately, the K-9 handler was able to apply a tourniquet to himself and is expected to recover fully and return to duty alongside his K-9 partner. Meanwhile, Rodriguez and the female victim were transported to the hospital, but as of Friday evening, there was no update on their conditions.

Pasco County Sheriff Chris Nocco stated that if Rodriguez survives his injuries, he will face charges related to the shooting.
