Today is the 7th of March, 2026. It is with a heavy heart that we share the news of the passing of Sandra E. Chute, aged 87, who left us on Friday, March 6, 2026, at the Concord Care Center. Originally from Avondale, Rhode Island, Sandra had made her home in New Port Richey, Florida, before her recent move to Garner to be closer to family.
Sandra was born on November 6, 1938, to Robert and Marjorie (Lamb) Hall. She graduated from Westerly High School in Rhode Island and went on to have a distinguished career as a secretary for a U.S. Navy admiral at the Department of Defense in Washington, D.C., until her retirement. On November 29, 1958, she married David Chute in a heartfelt ceremony at the Avondale Church, embarking on a journey that would see them live in various locations, including North Carolina and Florida.
A Life Filled with Love and Passion
Throughout her life, Sandra was not only a dedicated professional but also an enthusiastic participant in various hobbies. She had a passion for golf, bowling, and reading, which brought her joy and fulfillment. Active in her community, she was a member of the Faith Baptist Church in New Port Richey and the Coast Guard Association. Her vibrant spirit and commitment to her interests left a lasting impression on those around her.
Sandra is survived by her two sons, David (Megan) Chute from White Bear Lake, MN, and Christopher (Emily) Chute from Garner, along with several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as extended family and friends. Her legacy will be cherished by all who knew her. Sadly, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband David, her parents, and her two daughters, Darlene Chute and Lori Darrow.
