San Antonio, United States - As we look toward the future of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, exciting changes are on the horizon. The First Presidency has recently announced new mission leaders for an impressive 165 missions worldwide. Most of these dedicated couples will begin their three-year service on or about July 1, 2025, a significant moment as they step into their roles with the solemn promise to spread faith and service across various global regions.

Among the missions, areas served include Africa, Asia, Brazil, the Caribbean, Central America, Europe, North America, the Pacific, the Philippines, and South America. The diversity of these regions offers a unique tapestry of opportunities and challenges for the new leaders stepping into these important positions. Newsroom reports that biographies and photos of these mission leader couples will soon be made available through the Church News, allowing congregations and communities to learn about their new leaders.

European Mission Leaders

In Europe, 14 mission presidents and their companions have already begun their service earlier this month. For instance, in the Adriatic North Mission, Brian E. Cordray and Angelika Cordray, both seasoned missionaries, will take over from President Kevin C. Field and Sister Dianna M. Field. The Cordrays, hailing from Frankfurt, are well-prepped with rich backgrounds in church duties and leadership. Similarly, Michael Auras and Johanna Auras have stepped into the Albania Tirana Mission after succeeding President Samuel M. T. Koivisto.

Here’s a quick look at some of the newly appointed mission leaders in Europe:

Mission Mission Leaders Details
Adriatic North Mission Brian E. Cordray & Angelika Cordray Four children, former missionaries, and experienced leaders.
Albania Tirana Mission Michael Auras & Johanna Auras Six children, both with strong church backgrounds.
Alpine German-Speaking Mission Martin W. Bates & Donna Bates Eight children, experienced in various church capacities.
France Paris Mission Ryan R. Munns & Heather A. Munns Six children, dedicated service history and community involvement.
Germany Frankfurt Mission Douglas P. Cropper & Lynne G. Cropper Four children, involved in various church teaching roles.

The leadership teams draw on both personal experience and deep community ties, promising to lead their missions with enthusiasm and compassion. Each couple brings a unique perspective to their role, having been active in various church responsibilities and leadership positions.

The Road Ahead

As these newly appointed leaders take their places, there’s an excitement brewing. They will soon gather in Provo, Utah, at the 2025 Seminar for New Mission Leaders set to take place in late June. This seminar will be pivotal for sharing insights and strategies that empower these mission leaders as they step into their roles. Coverage of this event will also be available through the Church News. Church News has indicated that profiles of the new mission leadership couples will be highlighted in the weeks and months following their appointment, offering an opportunity for communities to connect with these leaders on a more personal level.

Overall, the recent leadership changes within The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints signal a season of growth and renewed commitment to service across the globe. We celebrate these couples stepping forward and anticipate the positive impact they will have in their respective missions.
