The recent 15th Annual Grabelsky Family Special Night for Special Needs “Dream Builder” Celebration brought together over 125 community members and local leaders to support a noble cause. Held on March 4 at The Addison in Boca Raton, this special evening aimed to bolster the programs offered by the Helene & Roy Schwedelson Special Needs Department at the Levis JCC.
Organized by dedicated individuals Linda and Ralph Behmoiras, along with Diane and Fred Fiddle, the event was not just a celebration but a testament to the power of community support. Among the attendees were notable figures such as Dana and Steven Clarfield, Emily Grabelsky, and Marty Haberer. The evening was made even more memorable with the photography of Jeffrey Tholl.
Recognizing Contributions and Leadership
This year’s celebration marked a significant milestone in the journey of the Grabelsky Family event. The Boca West Children’s Foundation was honored for its continued support of the Schwedelson Special Needs Department, which provides vital resources and activities for individuals with special needs. Additionally, Marli Buchalter received the Yad B’Yad Teen Leadership Award, recognizing her exemplary leadership and commitment to the community.
A heartfelt speech by Mimi Norman, mother of a participant, underscored the importance of community support for parents of children with special needs. Her words resonated deeply with the attendees, emphasizing the strength found in unity and understanding.
